When I was first elected to the New York State Assembly, I made it a priority to visit every single school in my district. To me, this was so critically important because in Washington and Saratoga counties, schools are the heart of our communities. Not only do our schools deliver quality education, but more residents regularly gather at schools—for sports events, meetings, performances and academic fairs—than any other location in the communities I serve.

Woerner Supports Eliminating Outside Income for Legislators

MECHANICVILLE DECEMBER 1- At a Town Hall meeting Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner said that she supported eliminating all outside income for members of the New York State legislature. Woerner spoke at the Community Center on Tuesday night. She also supported pension forfeiture for all members of the legislature who commit felonies . At present only members who were elected after 2011 would lose their pennons if convicted of a felony. Lastly she supports eliminating LLC loopholes for large anonymous donors.

NYS Assembly Speaker Visits Mechanicville Dock – by T. Mahoney

MEACHANICVILLE AUGUST 18- Speaker Carl E.  Heastie, escorted by Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, visited the Mechanicville City Dock. He took notice of the boats parked on the dock. Supervisor Tom Richarson pointed out that the dock is one of stops that boaters on the Hudson plan around due the shower and rest facilities. He noted that one of the boats tied to the dock is from Germany.

SARATOGA LAKE, May 30 --There were free hot dogs, free cool mimosas and hors-d'oeuvres provided by Panza's. There was face painting And at the end of the day, as Stillwater Supervisor Edward Kinowski said in his introduction, finding "gold pieces" by kids, and at the end of the game they got drinks or prizes or “real gold dollars... We’ve got a hundred of ‘them to pass out.”

Meet the Candidates – Stallmer & Woerner

Carrie Woerner is a successful businesswoman with nearly 30 years in the high-tech industry. Her career includes stints with IBM and Perot Systems Corp. As the current Vice President of MeetMax Conference Software for The Wall Street Transcript, she has grown her division into a profitable business.

Steve Stallmer is a native of Saratoga Springs and a product of our local public school system. He grew up in Geyser Crest and graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1994. While on a full academic scholarship at Marymount University, in Arlington, VA, he began his career in public service as an intern for Congressman Jerry Solomon.
