Town & Village Still at Odds Over GE $ – by H. Wessell

STILLWATER AUGUST 21- In public comment, Village of Stillwater Trustee and Deputy Mayor John Basile, who is a negotiator along with Deputy Town Supervisor John Murray in discussions of the recent GE settlement, mentioned that the first payment by Village on the US Department of Agriculture issued loan of $85,000 is coming due. Without agreement on how to distribute the funds between the Town and the Village, he said water bills will cost EDU water rent for each of the users in the Village, which amounts to $110, paid twice yearly.

Stillwater Senior Time – Friday Sept. 26th

Barry M. Gerardi – 71

STILLWATER – Barry M. Gerardi, 71, of Turner Road, passed away peacefully at his residence after a long illness on Friday, September 5, with his loving family by his side.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 9th at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson, NorthChurch (St. Peters).  Burial with military honors at the Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga NationalCemetery.Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Josef Charles Mueller, Jr.

 

Josef Charles Mueller, Jr. of Colonial Road passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Albany Medical Center.  He was 86.   Born in Boston on November 22, 1927, Joe is the oldest son of the late Josef Charles, Sr. and Cornelia (MacLeod) Mueller.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Stillwater United Church, Hudson Avenue, Stillwater.   Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Arrangements by Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, Stillwater (664-3731)

Stillwater Appoints New Police Sergeant – by H. Wessell

 

TOWN OF STILLWATER, August 21 - The Town of Stillwater Police Department, for the first time in several years, has two sergeants.

   In a swearing-in ceremony at Town Hall,  Officer Charles T. Rockwell Jr. Of the Department  was made Sergeant, in particular because of the recent appointment of Sergeant Raymond Cordani as Police Commissioner.

Stillwater Gets Second Shot at FEMA Aid – by H. Wessell

OWN OF STILLWATER, August 6 - A meeting of the Town of Stillwater officials and a bevy of state and federal officials related to disaster recovery, as well as aides to congressional representatives, gathered at the Town Hall on Wednesday to revive the effort to get enough funding for a large culvert seriously undermined by Hurricane Sandy.
