SCHUYLERVILLE - Michael Edward “Mike” Caswell passed away on August 29, 2015 at the Saratoga Hospital with his beloved family at his side. He was 55.

Historic Hudson Welcome Center in Schuylerville, by H. Wessell

BALLSTON SPA, June 24 –  After some six years of preparation, members of the Historic Hudson-Hoosic Partnership are optimistic that a key project for their consortium can get underway, probably next spring, and be completed that year.

   Last week's Express reported that  on June 18 the State Senate unanimously passed Sen. Kathleen Marchione's bipartisan legislation, following a companion measure introduced by Assemblywoman Carried Woerner and passed in that chamber, that strengthens the Partnership.

Kathleen L. Pickett – 59

SCHUYLERVILLE – Kathleen L. Pickett, 59, of Broad St., former longtime resident of Mechanicville, died Monday evening at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.    A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 7 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter in fond memory of Kathleen L. Pickett.

The Canary Just Died – by Harold Wessell

SCHUYLERVILLE, August 27 - As a visitor to Hudson Crossing Park, near Lock 5 of the Champlain Canal, takes the path to its "Riverwalk Sensory Trail," one of the first signs is a warning familiar on the river: "Catch and Release area... Take no fish. Eat no fish."

Reaching the trail, to the left one can walk to the historic, restored for non-automobile traffic Dix Bridge; which has become a hiker and cyclist access across the Hudson to trails in Washington County and north.

Waldo William Kobzar – 50

SCHUYLERVILLE - Waldo William Kobzar of Hessian Drive, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 50.
