Elvis & Patsy Help Rotary Club Raise Funds

TILLWATER OCTOBER 25- Danny "Elvis" Romines and Courtney "Patsy Cline" Shane filled up the SACC auditorium on Saturday night. The Mechanicville Rotary Club sponsors Elvis every year to raise money for winter coats for needy children. Food and beverage sales revenue went to SACC so 2 worthy causes benefited.This year the show was moved from Mechanicville to Stillwater and Patsy Cline was added to the program.

 

Stillwater Area Community Center Board of Directors

 

All interested community center members who reside in the greater Stillwater area (including school district) that are 21 years and older: there are five (5), board of director positions that need to be filled.  We will be holding a Special Election on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 to elect the new positions.

We ask that all interested candidates please submit a cover letter and biography highlighting you professional skill set and why you would enhance our Board of Directors.  Please understand the commitment of time that is required to fill this important position.  Candidates must possess a commitment to volunteerism and the promotion of the community center and its programs.

Interested candidates are required to turn in their cover letter and bios by 4:00pm on the 6th of June, 2014.  Submissions will be turned into a nominating committee and candidates will be contacted during the week of June 9th.  Voting by all community members 18 years of age and older will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 7:00pm.

 

New Director at SACC- by Jennifer Dugan

The Stillwater Area Community Center welcomes a new face to the family, as Lorna Papke Dupouy steps in as its new Executive Director. Dupouy took over the reins in November after the position was vacated by previous director, Madeline Patterson. Dupouy brings with her a unique passion for the position, one based on her desire to see SACC grow into the best community center in the United States.

Dupouy says she has high hopes for the Center as it moves forward under her leadership. “I have several goals, with the first being to make this community center the best center in the United States of America.  Stillwater certainly has the right people and enough dedicated community members willing to volunteer to make this a reality

Is The Stillwater Community Center Haunted? – By Madeline Patterson

There have always been stories about the Stillwater Area Community Center being haunted. There have even been people who claim to have seen a man on the second floor, or who have heard strange noises, like someone walking around upstairs. One woman even claims to have been locked in a room that she knew was unlocked when she went in. In addition, there have been accounts of basketballs rolling around after they had been stationary for quite some time. With all of these stories buzzing around we had to find out the truth, is S.A.C.C. haunted?
