Missie is an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier. She is microchipped and is up to date on her vaccinations. Missie is very sweet, loving and hardly ever barks. She is good with older children and dogs, but we are not sure about cats. She only has 1 tooth but is able to eat small kibble and treats. She is working very hard to become housebroken and loves to go for walks on a leash.

Vegas is a 7-year old Boxer/Hound mix who is very sweet, very gentle, thoughtful, and well behaved. Because he loves being around people, he wants to be wherever you are. Vegas is a big snuggler and a little bit of a goof ball. He has perfect potty habits; he always waits until we take him outside to "go". We are working on introducing Vegas to other dogs. It would better for him to go to a home with older kids..

Like all HOPE dogs, Vegas is neutered, up to date on his shots, and micro-chipped.

For more information, call Cathy at 518.424.2878.

Lucy is an affectionate 5-year old declawed cat. She prefers a quiet home as an only pet or with a mellow kitty companion. Lucy is positive for FIV and needs a loving home with other FIV cats or as an only cat. FIV cats can live long and happy lives just like other cats! Lucy is spayed and up to date on her shots and will make an excellent companion!

ADK Save – A – Stray Pets for Adoption

Boshie - Blonde, Male, Pomeranian, 3-5 years old. Up to date on shots
Hayden & Evan - Chocolate, male, Pomeranian, 3-5 years old, up to date on shots.
These babies were rescued from a horrendous hording situation along with several others. We are getting them neutered, groomed and fully vetted before they come to us. They are very sweet, good with other animals and will make perfect lap dogs. If you are a Pom lover, please come and meet them.
For more information please call 518-654-6220.
Carey Circle puppy - This little guy was from a getto area. Our rescuer was driving one of the bad neighborhoods in Georgia and saw a lady walking a Mama dog that had been nursing pups. She immediately pulled over and asked where the pups were. She was told the rest of the pups had been traded or sold. This was the last of the pups and our rescuer took the puppy immediately and brought it to the vet. The woman would not give up the mother but she is trying to work with the owner to get her spayed.
Please come and meet this cute, 10 week old baby. For more information please call the shelter.
Kitten: We are really overloaded with kittens this year and they keep coming in. We have all different colors and coats. Please come and see all the little furballs that are in need of homes.

Bentley is a 3-year old neutered male Pomeranian, who is up to date on his shots and micro-chipped. He likes to ride in the car and is good with older children, dogs, and cats. He is house trained and crate trained. Bentley is like a fluffy teddy bear! He loves to be cuddled and he cuddles back quite willingly. He loves to play with balls and toys. When he gets excited he lays down on the floor throwing his head around in the cutest antics. Bentley walks well on a leash and understands the heal command. He also knows the sit and stay commands, and he will also stop barking on command. Due to Bentley's love of running, it would be best if his forever home have a fenced yard and be in a low traffic area.

Kalhi is a 3-year old, grey and white, one-of-a-kind type of cat. She loves people and any attention she can get from her humans as well as other cats or dogs. She has many toes that make her look as though she has a hand: fingers and a thumb!

Kalhi is spayed and up to date on her shots.

Emma - Emma was a rescue from down south who was adopted from us about 2 months ago. One of the children she lived with has allergies and so the family returned her to us. Emma is a sweet, beautiful and gentle pup. Now that she has grown a bit she appears to have some Great Dane in her and will likely be on the bigger side. Emma is also good with other dogs and cats. She is about 4 months old and up to date on her shots. This pup is going to be a real gem if you like slightly bigger dogs. FOr more information please call the shelter at 518-654-6220 or stop by to meet her.
Backyard litter - The owner of this litter could not care less about them and had just not gotten around to dumping them at the shelter when rescue found them. They were immediately taken to the vets and treated for a skin condition and given shots and wormed. They have had a very herd start to life and now deserve wonderful homes from here on out. All these pups are wonderful with excellent dispositions and will make wonderful Pets.
Clarence - This little guy was found as a stray and brought to the vets office before going to the shelter. The vet thought he was such a good boy he called rescue to see if we could help him out. Clarence is now neutered, up to date on shots and ready for his forever home. FOr more information please call the shelter at 518-654-6220 or come by to see the babies.

Beatty is spayed female Boxer/Shepherd mix about 4yrs old, who is up to date on her shots and microchipped. She is a warm and faithful dog. Beatty is house trained and responds to commands. She is good with kids but it is suggested they be older. Beatty has lived with dogs in the past, but is not compatible with cats.

Maverick is great company! He loves to socialize and when not busy checking out every nook and cranny he can’t resist stalking, chasing, batting and carrying around every toy in reach. In addition to being playful Maverick
loves a good scratch which he usually asks for with a silent meow and a
thankful loud purr. A true charmer with his gentle and easy-going nature
Maverick will fit into almost any household. If Maverick had his preference he’d love to be adopted with his little sister Midge who always provides him with a soft spot to sleep. Maverick is comfortable around dogs and cats.

He and Midge are spayed & neutered, up to date on all his shots and tested negative for both FIV and Feline Leukemia.

image.jpeg
Midge is a shy girl but once she decides your an ok human its all purrs, leg rubs and head-butts. Midge prefers to keep
all four paws on the ground but enjoys lap-time as long as its her idea.
When she is not seeking out affection with a soft meow Midge is usually
off on her own playing with toys — anything round and fuzzy will do. Can’t
find the cat toys? — Midge probably has them tucked away in her bed for
safe keeping!  If Midge got her wish she’d be adopted with her big brother
Maverick who looks out for her and always lets her have his leftovers.
Midge is spayed and up to date on her shots, she gets along with both cats
and dogs.

Peanut Butter was found living outside in a trailer park as a stray. He is now neutered, vaccinated and has tested neg for Felv/FIV. He'a a really friendly, big male with BIG feet! Peanut Butter loves people and is good with some other cats but not all (he does best with laid-back kitties); he's okay with some dogs too. Peanut Butter would be best in house with older kids because he'll sometimes play with your feet as you walk past him.

Susanne is a lovely 2-year old who is good with dogs and cats. Susanne is litter trained and, as all HOPE pets are, she is spayed and up to date on shots. She loves laps - Won't you give her a lap to call her own?

May and her brood - This is really a good and bad story. This older gentleman was getting evicted and brought these kittens in to us with two Moms

Let me say this is the frustration that we have to deal with. Because he never secured the cage, one of the Moms escaped from his car and we are actively looking for her. Heartbreaking!! As the saying goes sad but true. So this Mama is stuck with all these babies to nurse. Some are seven weeks old and ready to go within the next few days. The others are about 3 weeks and have a few weeks to go(The other Mama's litter). Please, if you are looking for a new purr bucket, come and reserve one. We are desperate to find homes for them. Call for more information 518-654-6220.

Backyard Litter - These seven pups were rescued from backyard of a home in Mount Vernon. The man could have cared less that we took them. He just hadn't had time to "dump them at the shelter." They were immediately taken to our vet and vaccinated and treated for scabies. They have been at vet for over a week and been given dectomax injections. They have been cleared to go to rescue. There is five males two females and weigh between 8 to 12 lbs. They are currently in foster care. Please help with these puppies and give them a better start than they first were given.
