H.O.P.E Pets for Adoption

Griffen is an older adult neutered Chow male who was brought to the Saratoga County Shelter as a stray. He enjoys riding in the car. Griffen has met several dogs downtown and has had many playdates with dogs and he seems to like all of the dogs he has met. One volunteer told us that with a little consistency and discipline she felt that it wouldn't take him long to do whatever you ask of him. He seem to be a great dog who just needs someone to love him and care take of him.

Calvin is 5-year old St.Bernard/Bloodhound mix who's a very happy and playful dog. He's good with both dogs and cats and is housebroken. Because of his large size (120+ lbs), it is best that he not go to a home with small children.

Calling all couch potatoes!!! This chunky monkey is ready to plop down beside you. Bailey loves to be scratched and prefers to be right near you all the time, normally on the sofa, where he likes to sleep half-on/half-off your lap (at 17 pounds he's almost too big to fit all the way). When really happy he will roll around on the floor and "rough-house"— occasionally giving little love-nips if you get him too excited. When scared Bailey will vocalize with a soft growl, he has never been aggressive, that's just him letting everyone know that it's "personal space" time. His favorite food is dry kibble although he does like to lick up the gravy in canned food. Overall Bailey is a gentle and loving cat. He would probably do best in a quiet house without children however he is good with other cats.

Kalhi is a 3-year old, grey and white, one-of-a-kind type of cat. She loves people and any attention she can get from her humans as well as other cats or dogs. She has many toes that make her look as though she has a hand: fingers and a thumb!

All H.O.P.E. cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their shots, and have tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

Yukon is a 9-year old Rottweiler possibly mixed with Bernese Mountain Dog. He is very sociable and loves people of all ages. He often smiles at his foster mom (a full, teeth-baring grin that is definitely a smile). He will occasionally approach strangers and smile at them too! He is mellow but does likes to play. He loves walks and car rides. Yukon is housebroken and gets along well with most very small male dogs and with female dogs of any size. Yukon will not be placed in a home with cats, rabbits or other small house pets. He would prefer to live in a home with a fenced in yard. Like all HOPE pets, Yukon is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.. He's pretty mild mannered and gets along with other polite dogs. Yukon's feline foster-sis is teaching him how to live with cats.

At 9 years old, Yukon is eligible for our Senior to Senior program (adoption fee waived for qualified applicants 65 years and over).

Marius is an eight month old charming, lovable kitten. He and his sisters were rescued from a barn trying to survive the brutal cold of the winter. His foster mom spent many days slowly rehabilitating him. He has gone from a frightened feral kitten to the sweetest, most affectionate one of his litter. Marius enjoys sleeping on top of your head, lulling you to sleep with his boisterous purring. He also loves to rub his face against yours; making sure to give you plenty of kisses. Marius needs a home where he can receive all the affection he deserves (and it is quite a lot!) He enjoys playing with cats of all ages and gets along well with dogs. Marius is neutered and up to date on his shots.

Addie is a lovely, long haired tortie cat that loves to be near her person. She really enjoys a frisky romp chasing her toys — a crinkly pink crescent moon is her favorite, tossing it up in the air she makes her own fun and she is also training her foster dad to fetch. Addie likes to sit in your lap 1-2 hours in the evening watching baseball. (She may be a Yankees fan.) Addie's motto is: If there's a lap, I'm on it!

At 9 years old Addie qualifies for HOPE's free Senior-to-Senior program. All HOPE cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their shots, and have tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

H.O.P.E. Pet Adoptions

Mumsey “Mum”

As featured on Pet Connection:
Mumsey is a fabulously sweet lap kitty. She is always purring and loves attention. Mumsey had a rough start— a friendly stray, struggling to raise her kittens in a Hudson Falls laundry mat parking lot, she did the very best she could until one lucky day they were all rescued. Her little ones have gone on to good homes and now, happy and healthy, “Mum” is looking for her forever family. Check out her beautiful tortie coloring and unique white tummy. Mumsey will  join you each night on the bed for some snuggling and LOVES treats.  If you need a little furry friend to keep your lap warm Mumsey is your gal.  Will you be the one to give her another lucky day? Mumsey is 3 years old, up to date on her shots, spayed and has tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.

Joanne is a spunky, lively three-year old. She rules the roost, confident and unflappable, she's a true alpha cat. Joanne must know what is going on in her home at all times— you will often find her perched up high checking that everyone, including the humans, are ok. She loves to snuggle and play with her foster family — and a little ear scratching will maker her day. Check out her adorable extra toes and striking golden eyes. Joanne is good with other cats and dogs (4 of them are currently under her supervision). If you need some order in your household Joanne might be just the gal to help out.

Joanne is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.

Harper is a very confident 1 1/2 year-old little lady. She enjoys sleeping in the sun all day and curling up on soft bed covers. She loves playing with anything and everything left to her for toys. She enjoys chasing bugs as her little hunter self. Harper is a little shy and quite independent preferring the other cats to people, although sometimes she will follow you around until she gets what she wants (dinner or toys or a quick pet). She would be perfect for a family that is looking to find a companion for an existing pet or a family that would like to adopt more than one cat. Harper is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
