Retired Staff Sgt. Bernard ‘Joe’ Compo, Jr.

MECHANICVILLE – Retired Staff Sgt Bernard “Joe” Compo, Jr., USMC, and a resident of Zachary Ave., died Sunday, March 1st at the Stratton VA Medical Cr, Albany, after a brief illness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at Noon at the American Legion, Post 91, South Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours at the American Legion Post 91 on Saturday morning from 10 AM to Noon.In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Stratton VA Medical Center, Patients Activity Fund, in respectful memory of Bernard “Joe” Compo, Jr.

Luigi ‘Louie’ Squeglia – 76

MECHANICVILLE - Luigi “Louie” Sgueglia, 76, of Hudson Ave., died Monday, February 23, at Saratoga Hospital following a short illness. Born in Caserta, Italy, June 7, 1938, son of the late Nicolo and Rosina Mastoianni Sgueglia, Louie came to the United States at the age of 17.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 PM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Luigi Sgueglia.

MECHANICVILLE – John A. Alonzo, 96, of Viall Ave. Hill, died early Tuesday morning, February 10, at Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy, after a long illness.
