Philomena Fabio LeBarron McClenning – 80

MECHANICVILLE – Philomena Fabio LeBarron McClenning, 80, former longtime resident of Mechanicville, died Sunday, August 11th, in Lake Wales, Florida, after an extended illness.

A native of Mechanicville, born April 29, 1933, daughter of the late James and Anna Colucci Fabio, Phil and husband lived in Lake Wales for the last 19 years.

A former bookkeeper at Montgomery Wards in Menands, Phil had been a homemaker.

Phil was a woman who had an outgoing personality and quick wit, someone that was fun to be near.  She loved to dance, sing and have a good time with all.  Along with her deceased sister Marcella, those two were like a comedy act, lighting up people with jokes and wonderful stories.

She had been a member of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ted LeBarron, who died in 1989, along with sibling brothers Camillo and Dominick Fabio and sisters Marcella DeMicco, Theresa Mariano and Josephine Groncznaik.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Jack McClenning, son Joseph LeBarron of Ballston Spa and daughter Mary Ann Stefanik of Glens Falls.  Also two grandsons Luke and Logan Hoffis. Step-children: Richard McClenning of Argyle, Mary Reid of Amsterdam, Judy Jackson of Burlington, Linda Compuesto and Lisa Aggrawal both of Colorado, and in-laws Ida Fabio of Mechanicville and George Gronczniak.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 5-7 PM.

Remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. in loving memory of Philomena McClenning.

Virginia LeClair Ciccarelli – 83

CLIFTON PARK – Virginia LeClair Ciccarelli, 83, of D & R Village, died suddenly, Monday August 5th, at Albany Memorial Hospital, after being stricken at home.  Born in Troy, April 4, 1930, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Alice Goyette Leclair. Virginia grew up and was educated in Troy. She was predeceased by her husband Carmen J. Ciccarelli in 1990.

She was a clerk for the New York State Taxation and Finance for over 20 years, retiring in the year 2000 at the age of 70.  She enjoyed taking scenic rides with her family along with making several trips to the  racino and playing her scratch-off lottery tickets. She also enjoyed solving puzzles on her free time.

Survivors include her daughter Marie A. Parkis, a son Carmen J. Ciccarelli II, both from Clifton Park, along with several nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by a son-in-law, Raymond Parkis, Sister, Rosemary Jeske, and Brothers Vincent and Robert LeClair,

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 12 noon, at All Saints on the Hudson, South Church, Mechanicville.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville.  Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 PM.

Remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice in fond memory of Virginia M. Ciccarelli.

Ms. Jo-Ann Henderson – 56

MECHANICVILLE – Ms. Jo-Ann Henderson, 56, of North Second Ave., died suddenly at her home, Tuesday, July 30th, of natural causes.

Born in Troy, July 26, 1957, she was the daughter of Mr. William J. Lowe of Philmont, NY and the late Jeanne Wheeler Lowe.

A 1976 graduate of Averill Park High School, Jo-Ann had been an insurance secretary for the Connors Agency in Mechanicville for the last 10 years. She loved her work environment, co-workers and serving her customer base.

Survivors in addition to her father include her fiancé Leon B. Bills of New Rochelle, NY, cousins and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.

Michael J. Lasek – 74

STILLWATER – Michael J. Lasek, 74, of Riverwood Apts., died suddenly at home, Sunday July 14th, after being stricken.

Born in Troy, Oct. 20, 1938, son of the late Michael and Florence Lasek, Mike was a 1957 graduate of Catholic Central High School, where he excelled in football.

A cook for most of his life, Mike and his late wife ran Carol’s Diner in Stillwater for years, and previously had worked at the 1776 Diner in Schuylerville and Rivers Edge of Stillwater.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 2nd at 7 PM at the Elks Lodge, 302 Park Ave., Mechanicville.

A gathering of friends will be held at 6 PM at Elks Lodge, prior to the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may b made to the Elks Lodge or the Stillwater Rescue Squad, in memory of Mike Lasek.

LATHAM – Wasyl “Mike” Luciw, 87, former longtime resident of West St. in Riverside section of Mechanicville, died Mondaymorning, July 29th, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany after being stricken at home.

Born in the Ukraine, he was the son of the late Walter and Melanya Luciw, and the husband of Helen Hatalsky Luciw, who died Feb 23, 1998.

M. Lynda Cefferillo – 75

MECHANICVILLE – M. Lynda Cefferillo, 75, of Hemstreet Park, died Thursday evening, July 25th, at Albany Medical Center, after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, March 18, 1938, daughter of the late John and Adelaide Burke Hunt, Lynda was graduate of St. Paul’s Parochial and a 1955 graduate of Mechanicville High School.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at All Saints on the Hudson (St. Paul’s), 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville, with entombment in St. Paul’s Mausoleum.  Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Doris Lawyer Valdeon -78

STILLWATER – Doris Lawyer Valdeon, 78, died Wednesday morning, July 24th, at her home, after a brief illness.

Born in Stillwater, Dec. 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Eva Bellinger Lawyer. Doris had graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in Albany.

A homemaker for all her married life, she was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed the company of her kids, their families and her siblings and families.

Survivors include her four children: Peter (Denise) Valdeon, Jr. of Stillwater, Deborah (Alan) Simmons of Los Angeles, Ca., Diana (John) Neeley of Malta and Paul (Tina) Valdeon of Clifton Park, 10 grandchildren and a great granddaughter, along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.

Sandy Clark Greinet – 61

SCHAGHTICOKE - Sandy Clark Greinert of Pleasant Avenue passed away suddenly on Monday, July 22, 2013. He was 61.

Born on February 16, 1952 in Troy, son of the late Clark Robert and Joyce Madelyn (Fulner) Greinert. He is the husband of Jacquelyn (Hemmings) Greinert.

Sandy owned and operated Sandy Acres Farm and had been a farmer all his life. A past Chief of the Schaghticoke Fire Department, Sandy was a member of  both the Tobacco Roaders and Norseman Hot Rod Clubs.

Carmella Izzo Cimino – 83

MECHANICVILLE – Carmella Izzo Cimino, 83, of Railroad St., died Monday, July 22nd at Schuyler Ridge Health Care, Clifton Park, after an extended illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, born Sept. 24, 1929, daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Dagostino Izzo, Carm was a 1946 graduate of Mechanicville High School.

She owned and operated with her family, the former Commercial Hotel in Mechanicville for 48 years, a respite that catered to both young and old, and the railroad community, with great Italian food and friendly service.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville, with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at the North Main St. Church on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
