Waldo William Kobzar – 50

SCHUYLERVILLE - Waldo William Kobzar of Hessian Drive, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 50.

Relatives and friends may call from 10am-12noon on Saturday, October 26 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Memorial service will be conducted at noon in the funeral home.

John “Jack” Peter Dyer - 74

STILLWATER - John "Jack" Peter Dyer of Graves Road passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2013. He was 74.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Thursday at All Saints on the Hudson, South Church 121 North Main Street, Mechanicville. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Stillwater.  In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the Stillwater Ambulance Fund or the John Ahearn Rescue Squad in memory of Jack.

Pamela May (Kipp) Gailor – 45

STILLWATER - Pamela May (Kipp) Gailor passed away  suddenly at her home on Friday, October 11, 2013 . She was 45.

Born on April 16, 1968, she was the daughter of Marvin B. Kipp and the late Hazel (Russell) Kipp of Stillwater.

Pam was a 1986 graduate of Stillwater High School. She lived in and around the area for many years. She was employed in many area restaurants. Pam enjoyed everything in nature and all living things. Above all she enjoyed the love of her daughter who was always there for her.

In addition to her father Marvin B. Kipp she is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Gailor of Mechanicville, her companion Barry Gronczniak, her brother Rick Pine of Schenectady, her first husband and long time friend Victor Gailor of Mechanicville and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pam is predeceased by her mother Hazel Kipp and her brother, Marvin Kipp, Jr.

Relatives and friends may call from 5-7pm on Tuesday, October 15 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral service will follow at 7pm in the funeral home.

Maureen J. “Deni” Patenaude – 78

STILLWATER – Maureen J. “Deni” Patenaude, 78, of Neilson Ave., died Wednesday evening, Oct. 9th, at home, after an extended illness, in the loving company of her family.

Born in Mechanicville, April 1, 1935, daughter of the late Philip and Jane Montgomery Walsh, Deni graduated from Stillwater High School in 1953.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 PM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in Saratoga National Cemetery.

Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. William and Elfried Milner

MECHANICVILLE – A dual cremation interment service will be held on Wednesday, Oct 9th, at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville for William and Elfriede Milner. Mr. Milner died at age 60, in 1978 at Riverhead, NY, and Mrs. Milner died August 11, 2013 at age 86 in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Milner was a career Air Force serviceman, serving during WW II and Korea Wars, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1961. Mrs. Milner was a homemaker.

They are survived by their son and daughter-in law George and Susan Milner of Mechanicville, and a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Marl Christler of Charlotte, N.C.

Friends are asked to meet at the Visitors Center at the Cemetery at 11:45 AM Wednesday.

Major Emil J. Schmidt (retired) – 97

MELROSE -  Major Emil J. Schmidt (retired), 97, of Melrose-Valley Falls Road, died Saturday evening, Oct. 5th, at his residence, in the care of his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Molesky Schmidt, and family.

       A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 11th at 11 AM at Transfiguration Parish (North), 17 South Main St., Schaghticoke followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at Transfiguration Parish (North) are Thursday from 4-7 PM, with a wake prayer service at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances please be made to Transfiguration Parish (North), 17 South Main Street, Schagticoke, NY 12154 in memory of Emil J. Schmidt.

Helen Eva (Speanburg) Oliver – 91

MECHANICVILLE - Helen Eva (Speanburg) Oliver passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her granddaughter's residence with her loving family at her side. She was 91.

Born on August 21, 1922 in Valley Falls, daughter of the late Earl and Eva (Cross) Speanburg.

During World War II, Helen worked 7 days a week for Behr Manning in Watervliet while her husband, the late William C. Oliver served in the armed forces as a Bombardier overseas. After her employment during the war, she worked as a mail clerk at Geier and Blum in Troy.

Relatives and friends may call from 5-8pm on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
