Tickets on sale now for Friends of the Stillwater Free Library Ladies Night Raffle – by J Dugan

The ever popular Ladies Night at the Stillwater Free Library is fast approaching and this year the Friends of the Library are putting a new spin on things. The event, which sees a large turn-out each year, is typically first come first served when it comes to seating. However, this year the Friends of the Stillwater Free Library are offering up a chance to win a much coveted front row table thanks to their V.I.P. Pass raffle.

Stillwater Book Talk – By J. Dugan

 

STILLWATER - On the first Monday of each month, patrons of the Stillwater Free Library gather to dish about their latest reads, favorite authors and about life in general. This free drop in group welcomes new members with open arms and provides a great chance to socialize and “talk shop” with other book lovers. The next meeting of the group will take place at 1pm on Monday, August 4.

Big fun in store for little readers at the Waterford Public Library – By Jennifer Dugan

 

The Waterford Public Library is once again offering up its popular Creating Readers Backpacks program. Beginning July 1 and running through August, the library will have themed backpacks filled with books, DVDs and other reading related activities available for their patrons to borrow. Each backpack is geared towards preschool and early elementary aged students and is designed to keep kids reading and engaged with learning throughout the summer months.

Holiday Concert at Mechanicville Library – by Jennifer Dugan

Join the Mechanicville District Public Library in celebrating the many holidays of the season as they present a Holiday Concert at the Library. With music and entertainment by crowd pleasers Gigi and The Lend Me a Hand Band, the community is invited to gather to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali and Kwanzaa. This free, all ages concert will kick off at 1pm on Saturday, December 14.

Food For Fines at Mechanicville Library – By Jennifer Dugan

The holiday season can be particularly hard on food pantries as they struggle to keep up with demand. The Mechanicville District Public Library has stepped up to lend a helping hand with their unique Food for Fines programs. Throughout the month of November, library patrons may clear up library fines, return overdue materials and help line the shelves of the local food pantry, all at the same time.
