TOWN OF STILLWATER, September 17 – Stillwater Supervisor Ed Kinowski extended a "HUGE Thank you to all those who visited and enjoyed the old style ‘fun in the sun' at Stillwater's Brown's Beach!   There is no doubt, with well over 75,000 visitors, Brown's Beach became a Mecca for beach goers in the Capital area and beyond.  Our park facilities offered a daily clean, groomed, sandy beach, two large picnic areas, a canoe and kayak launch area, a Marina for up to 120 slips, the delightful Dock Brown's Tavern and the elegant Nest for sleeping accommodations. "

SARATOGA LAKE, July 3: On Friday morning Brown’s Beach was opened for the holiday weekend at 10:00AM; said Town Supervisor Edward Kinowski in “what we called a soft opening, to try for the summer to be open from 10 to 8, every day, because we think the summer hours are going to drive it."

Many On Hand to Welcome The New Brown’s Beach – by H. Wessell

SARATOGA LAKE, May 30 --There were free hot dogs, free cool mimosas and hors-d'oeuvres provided by Panza's. There was face painting And at the end of the day, as Stillwater Supervisor Edward Kinowski said in his introduction, finding "gold pieces" by kids, and at the end of the game they got drinks or prizes or “real gold dollars... We’ve got a hundred of ‘them to pass out.”

Brown’ Beach Reopens – by H. Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, May 21 – Supervisor Edward Kinowski called attention Thursday to This year’s  “main event” in town:  the grand re-opening of Brown’s Beach, now a Stillwater Town Park, this Saturday May 30 beginning at 11:00AM.  "It should be a nice day... even if it's raining... If raining, it's going to be under a tent – and it's a large tent, so it should hold all the folks that come. There’s free ice cream from Stewart's, free hot dogs being cooked by the Town Clerk; and a few others Mimosa trays will be put out [orange juice and sparkling water]."

Changes in Brown’s Beach – by H. Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, April 16 – As the announced May 30 grand reopening of the beach at Brown’s Beach Town Park to public use draws nearer, Town Supervisor Edward Kinowski first expressed appreciation for the Highway Department has done a wonderful job cleaning up the area there for the spring. He noted a crew is working on the upper pavilion building, that will house the marina operations for the coming season. He said they were “talking with Mike Menneto, and he is ready to jump into it as well;” and he would be meeting with him the following day, for his potential layout.

Plans to Re-Open Brown’s Beach – by H. Wessell

STILLWATER, April 10 – Supervisor Edward Kinowski says that very soon, invitations will be going out to local officials and businesspeople to be part of the May 30, long dreamed of,  grand reopening of Brown's Beach.  "Let's have a nice ribbon cutting. We may be lucky, because it appears the ice is slowly going away – And by May 30 I think it's all going to be gone! ... Things are gearing up."

Stillwater Students Complete Rotary’s RYLA Program

ARATOGA SPRINGS MARCH 7- Leadership development is the goal of the Rotary Club's RYLA Program. Communication, problem solving, and community citizenship are some of the topics covered in the Rotary Club's RYLA Program. Summer Sheehan and Jason Schultz of Stillwater; and Michael Horan of Waterford were honored for completing this year's RYLA Program.

Local Government Budgets – By H. Wessell

TOWN OF STILLWATER, November 20 - The Town of Stillwater like all New York towns is supposed to approve its Preliminary Budget for the new year  on or before November 20. Following Thursday's Town Board business meeting, Supervisor Edward Kinowski mused with this writer: Yes, the Town does have a budget in place, in one way...  but it doesn't, in another,and rather roundabout way.   "Normally by Nov. 20," explained the Supervisor,  "We are ready  to do that."    But due to what he called "a little bit of a nuance that occurred three days before," the Town did not yet pass its budget by a vote. But in the aforementioned roundabout way, the Town still DOES have a Final Budget in place, as of that night.
