Mrs. Rose Sabatino Haskell - 90

MECHANICVILLE – Mrs. Rose Sabatino Haskell, 90, of Kennedy Gardens and former longtime resident of Stillwater, died Saturday evening, Nov. 9th, after a brief illness.

A native of Mechanicville, born February 8, 1923, she was daughter of the late Phillip and Frances Zafonta Sabatino and widow of Louis T. Haskell, married for 53 years, who died exactly 14 years earlier to Rose’s date of death.  A homemaker, Rose had been a secretary for the General Electric in Schenectady for some years.  Rose had a soft and pleasant personality, kept a beautiful home, and loved looking after her children, grandchildren and her sibling’s families. She enjoyed card playing, golf and bowling, along with taking walks.  She was a faithful member and former longtime religious education teacher of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Stillwater.

Survivors include her two daughters Holly (William) Wray of Niskayuna, Patricia (Jack) Jordan of Clifton Park, son Louis T. Haskell, Jr. of Florida, grandchildren: John (Rachel),  Michael, Thomas, Anne Jordan and Allyson Wray, great grandchildren Dylan Louis and Alexis Rose, along with nieces, nephews and their families.  Rose was also predeceased by sisters Mary Russo, Ann Conley, Elsie Shields and Adeline Gilbert, and brothers Joseph, Charles and Sylva Sabatino.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at All Saints on the Hudson North Church (St. Peter’s) Hudson Ave., Stillwater.  Burial in the Saratoga National Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.
