MECHANICVILLE SEPTEMBER 25- Jacob Henes caught a pass in the flat from Giovanni D'Ambro and ran 77 yards to score a touchdown. In the 2nd half Voorheesville scored a 4th quarter touchdown to tie the game. Mechanicville's Dan Motta made an interception with 2 minutes left in the fame. Mark DeBates scored from 3 yards out to win the game.

The Raiders are now 3-1 for the season.

MECHANICVILLE SEPTEMBER 4- Marc DeBates rushed for 104 yards and scored 4 touchdowns and Jacob Henes caught 2 passes both for TD's. Quarterback Giovanni D'Ambro intercepted two passes besides throwing his 2 touchdowns to Henes. the 40 yard reception by Henes in the 2nd quarter broke the game open by giving Mechanicville a 21-0 lead. Henes kicked the extra points for the Raiders.

HV Football Hosts Fundraiser for Flip – by C. Barton

Hoosic Valley-The Flip Tarver Basketball Classic was held at Hoosic Valley High School on March 21st 2015 starting at 5pm.  This was not just any basketball game, rather it was a fundraiser to support local Troy’s Fighting Irish football player, Jahmel “Flip” Tarver.  Tarver underwent surgery in January 2014 for an Achilles tendon. Complications during this surgery left him in a comatose state where he remains today. Flip currently requires around the clock care.

Thanksgiving Day In America – By H. Wessell

Thanksgiving Day is about many things: giving thanks for the bounty America knows by sharing in a famously festive meal, fervent prayer at home and even church attendance, family time... parades.. football game  and more and more every year, frenetic shopping: as early as the following midnight, if not still on the holiday itself.  Thanksgiving Day most noticeably launches, in modern times in America and elsewhere,  not the season of Advent (whose four Sundays before December 25 starts near or on the holiday weekend  November 30 this year). But now most folks know those weeks not as The Advent Season, but "The Christmas Season," meaning the Christmas-Shopping Season.
