Schaghticoke- The inaugural Rock’n Derby festival made its way to the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds from May 20th through May 22nd for this first, ever of its kind event in Schaghticoke.  The festival sponsored by SLP Concerts and GameLoud was three days of a unique concert, camping and entertainment experience, suitable for the entire family. There is so much more to this event than just the music, says Carly Reyna, Manager of the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds.

Horse Pulls at Fairgrounds – by C. Barton

Schaghticoke Fairgrounds- On Sunday August 9th the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds hosted the first of its kind, a “Festival of HorsePower”at the fairgrounds.  The gates opened to the public at 11am. For a $10.00 adult and $5.00 children admission fee, an entire day of unique family fun activities were offered. The festival was centered on the concept of HorsePower in a variety of different forms. From the horses of all sizes to the equipment of all sizes; everything at the festival ran on HorsePower.

Veterans Hall Open House – by C. Barton

 

Schaghticoke-On August 9th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm the Veterans Hall located in the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds hosted an open house for the community as a “Salute to All Veterans Past and Present.” The open house allowed for visitors to view the abundant collection of memorabilia and the significant improvements to the hall. Veterans Hall has undergone major physical plant improvements over the last year. The time talent and donations of community members have made this hometown tribute the successful memorial that it has become.
