It was only a matter of time before I would address Election Rage 2016 and how it may impact the outcome of the 2016 presidential as well as the other national elections.  How did we go from being a relatively civil democratic campaigning society to an all out, fist bared, knuckle punching, slug fest in order to select our respective candidates.  Where did the smiling, baby kissing politician of yesteryear go?

Election Info for Schaghticoke & Pittstown by C. Barton

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.  Polling locations are open from 6am to 9pm. Qualified voters will have the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in the elections held in Rensselaer County. The following information provided by the Rensselaer County Board of Elections is outlined for the Town of Pittstown and the Town of Schaghticoke General Elections to be held on November 3rd, 2015:

Meet the Candidates – Stallmer & Woerner

Carrie Woerner is a successful businesswoman with nearly 30 years in the high-tech industry. Her career includes stints with IBM and Perot Systems Corp. As the current Vice President of MeetMax Conference Software for The Wall Street Transcript, she has grown her division into a profitable business.

Steve Stallmer is a native of Saratoga Springs and a product of our local public school system. He grew up in Geyser Crest and graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1994. While on a full academic scholarship at Marymount University, in Arlington, VA, he began his career in public service as an intern for Congressman Jerry Solomon.

  It’s that time of year again, when we are on election overload with gaudy signs blotting the roadsides, mailers and seemingly non-stop TV spots either extolling the virtues of the candidates or letting us know how dishonest and corrupt they are.  If we can believe everything we’re hearing and reading in these negative ads, we are in a whole lot of trouble.

Stillwater Area Community Center Board of Directors

 

All interested community center members who reside in the greater Stillwater area (including school district) that are 21 years and older: there are five (5), board of director positions that need to be filled.  We will be holding a Special Election on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 to elect the new positions.

We ask that all interested candidates please submit a cover letter and biography highlighting you professional skill set and why you would enhance our Board of Directors.  Please understand the commitment of time that is required to fill this important position.  Candidates must possess a commitment to volunteerism and the promotion of the community center and its programs.

Interested candidates are required to turn in their cover letter and bios by 4:00pm on the 6th of June, 2014.  Submissions will be turned into a nominating committee and candidates will be contacted during the week of June 9th.  Voting by all community members 18 years of age and older will take place on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 7:00pm.
