SACC Offers Disaster Preparedness for Children – by J. Dugan

The Stillwater Area Community Center is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a special disaster preparedness class for children at 6pm on March 24. The Pillowcase Project is designed to help teach children what to do in the event of an emergency and focuses on helping them to prepare emergency pillowcases with supplies. Each child will also leave the program with a pillowcase courtesy of the American Red Cross. Registration is required and the program fee is $5 per child.

Stillwater Gets Second Shot at FEMA Aid – by H. Wessell

OWN OF STILLWATER, August 6 - A meeting of the Town of Stillwater officials and a bevy of state and federal officials related to disaster recovery, as well as aides to congressional representatives, gathered at the Town Hall on Wednesday to revive the effort to get enough funding for a large culvert seriously undermined by Hurricane Sandy.
