Walter E. Isles, Jr. – 87

STILLWATER – Walter E. Isles, Jr., 87, of Fitch Rd., died Friday, March 11th at home, after a long illness.  Born in Mechanicville, July 18, 1928, son of the late Walter and Rose Smith Isles, Sr.  A patriotic American, Walt served in the US Army in WWII, during the occupation of Germany and later in Korea during that War.

A Funeral Service with Rev. Brenda Tompkins, Pastor of United Methodist Church officiating will be held on Thursday at 7 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.   Calling hours at the Funeral Home Thursday from 4-7 PM.

An inurnment with military honors is set for 11 AM Friday at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Sylvia Brookley Luther – 86

STILLWATER – Sylvia Brookley Luther, 86, of Lake St., died Saturday evening March 12th at St. Peter’s Hospital, in the loving company of her family.  A native and lifelong resident of Stillwater, born March 16,1929, daughter of the late Loren and Ethel Wiltsey Brookley, and widow of Edgar “Bud” Luther, Jr. who died in 2001.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in Saratoga National Cemetery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at Noon at All Saints on theHudson Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

A gathering of friends will be held Tuesday from 11 AM till the Noon Mass at All Saints on the Hudson No. Main St. Church.

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Catherine Golden Chauvin, 65, former resident of Mechanicville, died Monday, February 8th at Saratoga Hospital in the loving company of her family. Born in Troy, May 30, 1950, she was the daughter of Lucy Fargnoli Golden of Mechanicville and the late Thomas F. Golden, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13th at 11AM at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville. In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
