November - The following agenda items anticipating passage at the County Board of Supervisors November business, November 18, include a new substation of the Sheriff's Department.   - Authorizing a lease of space negotiated by the Town of Wilton and the Wilton Mall, for a 920-square foot Sheriff's Department substation, for five years with an option of renewal for five. (He quipped, "The rent, good job Sheriff, is a dollar a year, so we're happy with that.")

2nd Annual Radiant Peace Tree Lighting to be Held in Schaghticoke – By C. Barton

Schaghticoke-The Radiant Peace Memorial Tree lighting ceremony offers the opportunity to “remember those who can’t be with us this holiday season.” The title “Radiant Peace” best describes the sentiment behind the event that was held for the first time in 2013. This year there is 53 trees that will be simultaneously lit on Saturday November 29th at the Schaghticoke Town Hall.

Thousands Attend 2014 Tugboat Roundup – by M. LeMay

WATERFORD- Friday September 5th was the kickoff of the fifteenth annual Waterford Tugboat Round-Up. Twenty plus tugs of every shape and size made their way up the Mohawk River. The visitors cheered on the tugs, owners and passengers before they docked along the Erie Canal near the Waterford Visitors Center.

   Friday evening started the three-day festivities filled with vendors set up along the Erie Canal. There was something for everyone; fun & games for the kids, pony rides, petty zoo, plenty of food choices provided by many local non for profit organizations, music and vendors selling things from handmade crafts to pocketbooks. An added bonus this year up on Lock 2 was a boat show sponsored by The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, exhibitors where Anderson Boats, Smith Boys & Mohawk Valley Marine.
